Free Kids Dental with Medicare’s Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)
We are proud to participate in Medicare’s Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS), which provides free dental care for eligible children aged 2-17 years old. Under this program, eligible children have access to a benefit cap of $1,095 over two calendar years, covering a range of essential dental services.
Is My Child Eligible?
Your child may be eligible for the CDBS if they meet the following criteria:
- They are between 2 and 17 years old.
- Your family receives Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment.
Your child qualifies for Medicare. - If your child meets these criteria, they can receive up to $1,095 in dental benefits over a two-year period.
What is Included?
The CDBS covers a wide range of dental services essential for maintaining your child’s oral health, including:
Comprehensive Examinations: Regular check-ups to monitor your child’s dental development and catch any issues early.
X-rays: Diagnostic X-rays to detect cavities, assess tooth alignment, and more.
Cleaning: Professional cleanings to remove plaque and tartar, helping prevent cavities and gum disease.
Fissure Sealants: Protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth to prevent decay.
Fillings: Restoration of teeth affected by cavities.
Root Canals: Treatment for infected teeth to save them from extraction.
Extractions: Safe removal of teeth that are too damaged to repair or causing crowding issues.
Please note that benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, and the CDBS does not cover services provided in a hospital setting.
